Eugène Boudin on his travels, exhibition - Exhibition - PARIS

A new vision of nature.

In spring, the Jacquemart-André Museum in Paris hosts the first Parisian retrospective to be devoted to Eugène Boudin since the late nineteenth century.

Known for his seascapes and beach scenes, Eugène Boudin (1824-1898) was one of the first French artists to take his easel outside the studio in order to paint landscapes. In his prolific body of work, he was particularly fond of depicting the elements and atmospheric effects. He was to be one of the initiators of a new vision of nature, preceding the Impressionists and his friend Claude Monet.

Some sixty paintings, watercolours and drawings are reunited in a tribute to this artist of sea and landscapes. Follow Eugène Boudin in his quest for light, from Honfleur to Venice.
